Begin on the first page of phrases.
Let the student practice reading the phrases out loud. You can help if needed.
Then, time the student for 1 minute and see how many phrases they can read.
Record the number of phrases the student read in one minute on their Progress Quest map by clicking on the “Timed Phrases Level 1” button on the map. Then, in the next session, have the student try to beat their previous score. You can make it a fun challenge!
This activity will automatically mark as complete on the Progress Quest map when one of the following occurs:
- your recorded # of phrases on the Progress Quest map equals the total number of phrases in this activity (student has read all phrases in 1 minute)
- you have recorded 5 attempts at this activity on the Progress Quest map
